I just finished an album that I'm not supposed to talk about yet.
So I won't.
OK, just a little...
It's crazy.
It's outstanding.
It's big.
Aside from the fact we now know that Boots is working on an album, he is also on a tour across the world...
"Right now, I'm on tour with Galactic in the Midwest and South. I just did Europe and Australia with them in March and Japan with them this past December. In July, I'll go to Europe and Japan again with them, Lyrics Born and Chali Tuna. Tonight we're at The Murphy Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee with Widespread Panic."
Also planned:
Bonnaroo on June 13th in Manchester Tennessee,
Winnipeg Jazz Festival on June 24th in Wiinipeg, Canada,
Taos Solar Music Festival June 28th in Taos, New Mexico, and
The Outside Lands Festival on August 23rd or 24th.
Boots will also be doing sets with Tom Morello on the Axis Of Justice Tour with the likes of Ben Harper, Slash, Perry Farrell, Davey Havok of AFI, Shooter Jennings, State Radio, Mike Einzinger of INCUBUS and MC5 founder Wayne Kramer. These are $10 Charity shows an the schedule looks like this:
4/22 Grey Eagle Tavern & Music Hall Asheville, NC
4/24 Black Cat Washington, D.C.
4/27 Berkelee Performance Center Boston, MA
5/1 Park West Chicago, IL
And now for the only thing that makes this Coup's related rather than just Boots...
Pam The Funkstress formed Bay Area Sistah Sound (B.A.S.S.) with Dj Neta and Dj Zita. They throw an event called Everlasting Bass every 1st Saturday at Milk (1840 Haight St. in San Francisco). It goes down. The next one is May 3rd.
Now I am wondering if Boots is keeping it solo or if he will be working with Tom Morello, now that would be dope. Oh well, illRoots will keep you up to date all the way to release day, so you already know you don't got shit to worry about!
