James: I worked for another company that was developing the product and they brought me in as a partner and we had some creative differences on how we were going to market the company and I didn’t sign any nondisclosures or noncompeting contracts. So I just branched off, found my own manufacturer and patented the technology and started my own company. That was before their product hit the market.
illRoots.com: How do you feel this product, camera brings a different asset to the game.
James: I think in terms of technology that’s stuff is regularly available overseas, so I don’t really have a technological advantage just basically the marketing and the family behind the product. Our company is pretty much a grass roots family and we are marketing from the streets up and what we are going to do is build a community, much like a myspace or kind of like a cross between a myspace and a youtube. Thus, people who purchase the camera can blog and post their content on the web community stage. Keep in mind from a marketing perspective a lot of members of the web community are socialites or people who make moves in business from Daunte at 10Deep to Chris Robinson the Director, and Snoop Dogg. Also a lot of people from the action sports community like pro skaters and surfers and that kind of shit.
illRoots.com: Right well it all goes back to the straight to YouTube sensibility. Tell us about the specs on the camera. James: Right, well its 7 in 1 functioned product, it’s a HD camcorder, 11 megapixel digital still camera, mp3 player, DVR recorder, and it can be used as a web cam. Its about the size of your hand completely open, so it will fit in your palm and its about an inch and half wide. Its got a big 3 inch screen so the screen is pretty much the entire size of the camera when you flip it open.

James: Well I can say that we have some new collabs with some street brands coming later on.
illRoots.com: So tell us about the Glow in the Dark Tour?
James: We are going to provide video cameras to collect a lot of the content from some of the talent that is going to be on tour.
illRoots.com: So its looking pretty good right now. So lastly why would I buy this product?
James: Well first off its reasonably priced. To get that type of technology in HD video in a product that fits in your pocket, so you can shoot a lot of reality stuff. Then an entry level HD camera is going to run you about 1000 to 1400 bucks.
