L.E.P. is from Chicago and for the most part they represent the Low End. The lyrics that are the mainstream sounds of the Chi almost overshadow the projects of the South Side Chicago streets. With LEP bringing this from the tundra-like streets of the windy city to your ipod maybe you too can realize the struggles of the streets of same city that brought us Common, Kanye, No ID, and so many rappers now presents one more package of greatness to Hip-Hop..Enter.....LEP..illRoots.com: First off thanks for the time of the day, so you guys have been grinding on some new material. What can we expect from your new project?
LEP: Hot production, strong concepts, bars from hell and just a collection of real life Chicago shit. The part of the city that has been overlooked for a long time….we’re trying to shed some light on that.
illRoots.com: So you had a label deal with Sony BMG, what happened and how has it been going the independent route?
LEP: When we lost Larro the contract we were in with Sony was breeched and they let us go, when that happened we decided to turn the grind level up 10 notches and make a lot of noise on the indie route which is a lot better cause Sony had no idea what to do with us
illRoots.com: Lil Larro, one of the members of you group, unfortunately was murdered as a direct result of gang violence. What are your individual stances on the idea of a "gang" and how does his passing reflect in your everyday life?
LEP: The city was built on the structure of street organization/gangs you know laws and policies . A lot of the original leaders of these organizations are currently political prisoners in the system and all the structure is gone. We try to get it out to the little guys involved in the streets to know that that you can get down and do what you gotta do to survive but you gotta do it with some kinda structure and follow the laws and policies started by the heads.

illRoots.com: So give us your main musical influences?
LEP: I used to listen to NWA , Rakim, Big Daddy Kane , and from that I started rappin about what was crackin in my hood or whatever I felt like talking about . Then I started getting my styles and patterns down pack and just was doing it ever since.
illRoots.com: One song that you've recorded that you feel will make the biggest impact?
LEP: I think they all will have there individual impact needed to push the group over the top the music is very potent and everybody bound to leave with something
illRoots.com: Future Plans, other than music, what should we expect?
LEP: Movies, more Videos, a few more singles and before the year is out a new situation, with a new label deal. And just takin the L.E.P/ Bogus boys movement all over the globe.
illRoots.com If one producer could produce your whole album, who would it be and why?
LEP: Our in-house producers the Fly Boyz, they do it all rap, rock , r&b their range is all over the place, and it’s all hot.
illRoots.com: Define Low End Professionals?
LEP Its basically the section of Chicago we represent, the Low End section. From state street to lake, And we are always professionals at how we handle business with what ever we do, and right now we messing with this rap game.
illRoots.com: In such a politically charged time, being from Chicago, how does this Presidential election affect Hip-Hop within your area?
LEP: I don’t really see it making a difference in Chicago, we got so much other shit to overcome like getting these radio stations to support the movement, unless Obama talking about getting’ our newest single added it pretty much won’t make a difference.
illRoots.com: Where can we find your music online and any last shoutouts?
LEP: www.myspace.com/bogusboyslep &myspace.com/bogusboysinfared
