Hezelo - Sensitive
After Pimp C's death we all realized how critical life really was. With Bun B's new album "II Trill", and Texas rap being some what cooled down from its early immergence, I saw it fitting to get one of the up and coming rap stars out of Texas that both represents UGK to the fullest but as well the Lone Star state.......Enter Hezeleo..illRoots.com: One song to Sum up Your Entire Life?
Hezeleo: "Everyday I'm hustlin'" by Rick Ross
illRoots.com: Your first time working with Pimp C....give us some back story on that?
Hezeleo: Upon his release the day of, I met him at his moms house an he was sitting alone in the game room just looking around as if he was amazed to be outta that cage thats what I was thinking an he greeted me real brotherly like he was glad to see me I had not seen Chad since early 90 briefly at the local judice it was crazy Pimp-c free then a bitch so i didn't wanna rush no rap shit on him but i welcomed him home and let him no what ever position he had for me I was gonna stomp it out with no excuses. He held my dap lookin me in the eyes first thanking me for holding down his moms then he said " my nigga you about to be the most hated nigga in pa" our hometown cause we finna mash tha gas an get this mutha fukin money. I smiled so big showin all my golds in my mouth cause I knew shit was about to change drasticly . To get to the point I told him take his time he agreed but that nigga got to work hours after his release fuck takin time it was time to mash . I let him know I had a show with Chamillionare that night an I'd fuck wit him tommorrow an then he replied " Tell that nigga Cham i wanna by that candy drop top he got". I did the show I told Cham he got the car not long after we got in the studio we did some stuff thats not released and then after he is featured on my song "Cadillac". Also hosted my mixtape "Blockstarz" and we rocked ever since, pick up Blockstarz on cdbaby.com or hit me at [email protected].

illRoots.com: In a time when CD sales seem to drive hip-hop what is your opinion on Hip-Hop 2008?
Hezeleo: Its a digital age now but the cats that no the game from the trunk poping an the guerilla marketing , I think they will be ok in the long run , its like a nigga with just street sense he gonna be straight in the hood but take him outta that environment he might lack in other area's so i suggest that cats get they beak wet in every area sell records, downloads, hand to hand combat, itunes it don't matter you not missing me Im selling records online in the hood at , the shows, at tha carwash fuck what you talkin bout I'm pushin like a broad in labor
illRoots.com: Your on an island one thing you can't live without and why?
Hezeleo: Pussy...naw. Drive, Dedication and the desire and faith , having the drive to survive and the dedication to substain an the desire to live an the faith that things won't be this way forever I feel check back on me ina bout to months I'ma be out there frying fish then some how found a fine ass mermaid have that hoe cleaning up and droping that ass to a new joint i just made cause o yea I'ma have me a studio out in that hoe some how.
illRoots.com:[Laugh}. Holy shit. Well any way you are from the streets, I can see a direct correlation in the music, what are you feelings about this pop movement in the game right now?
Hezeleo: It's just whose in the controlling positions the people who feel pop is the way are pulling the levels now so street niggas can't get mad we just need to get into position , its like the streets let's say we all got work oil base flakey butta whatever ok the nigga with the butter been on his grind non stop and he's figured a way to control the market he floodin the hood supply and demand he built the demand now hes supplying them , there is people who wanna hear Scarface, De La Soul, Krs-One, Pimp-C, Bun, 8ball & MJG, Im saying some of the pioneers of the game an they not gonna get pop so we must find the demand an supply get in position to find your lane to some it up an mash
illRoots.com:Expand a little on Triple Gold Records?
Hezeleo: TGR is what my brother an I started when I got back in the game my bro seen me from his cell he's serving a 20 year bid for lets say some differences in the streets an tx law hahaha but he seen me on some dumb shit going down the wrong road wasn't more course but i was lost just doing what ever an he was like you are a rapper an been one since we were kids get back at it an i did he is my motivator i miss my nigga mane it gets tough out here an sometime you wanna no a nigga got yo back with out a doubt an i no if i just collasped backward an he was in the room my back would not touch the ground thats tha bond we got but we started that label to drop my shit an just take tha bull by tha horns an do us
illRoots.com: Being from Texas what do you feel is Texas' biggest contribution to the Hip-Hop game?
Hezeleo: Tex joy season naw we got our own swag sown here an it derived from not tryna be like no else Houston and Port Arthur set the tone for tx why I say that the most influential artists came from these area's Geto Boys, Raheem, UGK I feel everyone else spinned off an found there nitch in the game the Screw Tapes, Fat Pat and Keke were sting out to me they had they own swagger alot of freestyling but it had Texas written all over it after that you could get a tape outta Houston featuring all the hot up coming cats thats still here today gettin mobey holdin it down ESG, Thug, Flip, Z-ro, Trae, and many more to name and you know who they are much respect to all my niggas out there reppin .
illRoots.com: One track that you've made that is your most personal track and why you made that track?
Hezeleo: Its unreleased its called shinning, its a song dedicated to pimpan all my neggas that has past away we all have homies that has past , but in this rap game this is the second homie who i was working close with an had plans on mashing an becoming all we could be just one day die in there sleep my homie J-will from Innersoul Rec with DMD, the song 25 lighters. He was the one got me back in the studio an let me shake the rust off and we were moving an groovin stackin gs and one wednesday we were planning to get to a car auction in Houston he was outta there RIP J will, Pimp, P-Wee etc but every one who hears it they listen with there hearts cause its that type of joint jammin but trill.
illRoots.com: Your Opinion on the Sean Bell incident, and the recent 12 cop barrage in Philly.
Hezeleo: I heard about the Shawn Bell situation its fucked up an its gonna be that way cause the wrong people are in position we need to help niggas out the hood persue there dreams of becoming what ever they wanna be not discourage them>why I say that is cause some of the most honest niggas right there in the hood but get over looked its a very unfortunte incident for the fam an friends and a community let you know you are not protected or safe from harm from not just the thugs but the law. the other incident I not up on it but it must be fucked up
illRoots.com: Who do you represent?
Hezeleo: The higher power first I'm one trill nigga campaigning and TGR/UGK records and the Fleet DJs and the Hezeleo movement . Yea and let me say this Vote Hezeleo and DJ 4sho at the www.southernentawards.com its going down wanna thank everyone who been holding me down and fuck everyone that been hating in ya ass cause we ain't gonna stop we gonna mash.
