Tesla recently held an event this past Thursday at the Jet Center in Los Angeles, California. Founder Elon Musk opened by unveiling the Tesla Semi truck, which stunned the audience with its unprecedented statistics. For starters, the all-electric truck was promised to go 0 to 60 in 5 seconds and reach 500 miles on a 30 minute charge. Musk continued to dive deeper into the specs, which included self-driving capabilities, 'nuclear explosion-proof glass' on the front wind shield, automatic breaking, and lane tracking.
As the showcase seemed to be coming to an end, Elon floored the ecstatic crowd when he unleashed the all-new Roadster. The convertible coupe zipped around the stage showcasing its record-breaking speed. Musk happily delivered the surprise and shared some of its features, including a staggering 0 to 60 mph time of 1.8 seconds and range of 620 miles on a single charge. He told the audience Tesla is currently taking pre-orders and expects the first 1000 units to be releasing in 2020. You can be one of the first to own your own Tesla Roadster by pre-ordering here for $250,000. Check out the gallery above and video below.
