With speculation and rumors filtering through the interweb about the newest rendition of the iPad, Apple today announced that OS X 10.9 Mavericks will arrive as a free update today. Macs going all the way back to 2007 will be able to update to the new OS. Mavericks, the tenth release of OS X, brings iBooks and Maps apps to OS X. It also includes a number of performance enhancements for extending battery life and reducing loading times. One of the key hallmarks of the new OS X is the pricing of it (Free!) as well as providing Mac Air owners extra battery life and iTunes playback support.
